Homeschool Happenings at Rock Hollow Woods-Single Sessions-October & November
Homeschool Happenings is a nature-based program focusing on environmental experiences followed by freewrites in each child's writer's notebook. This program will meet Tuesdays in October and November from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with Jean McCarney, an elementary and special education teacher. Jean has over 30 years experience teaching children to write freely and express themselves. Her mentors have been Lucy Calkins, Ralph Fletcher, Regie Routman and others. Jean and the children will explore journaling through activities such as creek exploration, hikes, observation, read alouds, poetry, art and more. Children will have time for free play each session. Parents are welcome to stay for the program or drop-off and pick-up.
