Homeschool Happenings at Rock Hollow Woods-February 3, 10, 17, 24, and March 3, 10, 2021
Homeschool Happenings is a nature-based program focusing on journaling in February and March. This program will meet six Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm. with Jean McCarney, an elementary and special education teacher. Jean has over 35 years experience teaching children to write freely and express themselves. Her mentors have been Lucy Calkins, Ralph Fletcher, Regie Routman and others. Jean and the children will explore journaling through activities such as creek exploration, hikes, observation, read alouds, poetry, art and more. They may also learn and journal about plants, animal life cycles and food webs. Children will have time for free play each session.
Participants will need to bring water and always dress for the weather.
